May's Best Beauty Launches

Another month, and another wave of beauty launches proving that skincare is still firmly pulling the industry’s focus. What’s particularly interesting this month is the overarching theme of ‘longevity’, made clear by the immense buzz around products designed not only to treat existing concerns, but to future-proof the skin against further damage.

From DNA damage-correcting formulas, to cellular renewal technologies and regenerative that mimic topical Botox, brands are increasingly blurring the lines between corrective and preventative skincare, with more formulas than ever being developed to do both.

Here are the products that stood out to me this month as those really driving the category’s next era of innovation…

Dermalogica Futurecode Booster Damage Correction + Longevity Serum

The epitome of the ‘longevity skincare’ movement, this damage-correcting serum is designed to optimise the skin’s natural repair response at a cellular level. It specifically targets DNA-related damage caused by UV exposure and environmental stress, and works to accelerate skin recovery, rebuild skin’s resilience and visibly improve deepening lines, uneven texture and discolouration in a matter of days.

Oskia London Midnight Eye-Q Intelligent Peptide Eye Cream

Bringing a similar concept to the above into overnight eye care, this eye cream is expertly designed to work in harmony with the skin’s natural nighttime repair phase for enhanced skin renewal. Formulated with the brand’s MSM-Regen Complex and Snap 8™ Peptide (a topical alternative to Botox), it delivers a powerful wrinkle-softening effect alongside deep nourishment to leave the entire eye orbital area looking noticeably firmer, brighter and more rested by morning.

Augustinus Bader The Solar Shield SPF 50 (For Body)

This innovative formula takes a treatment-first approach to sunscreen by pairing very high-factor, broad-spectrum UV protection with the brand’s proprietary TFC8® technology. This unique combination supports cellular renewal and skin repair while simultaneously shielding skin from the damaging and ageing effects of UV rays. The ultra-lightweight formula also improves overall skin quality by boosting hydration, enhancing luminosity and protecting against environmental aggressors.

The Ordinary’s Caffeine 3% + Escin 1% Face Serum

This latest launch reimagines the brand’s cult caffeine technology in a more skin-friendly format. Combining de-puffing caffeine with soothing escin, this serum works to rejuvenate tired-looking skin that’s impacted by poor sleep and lifestyle stressors. By reducing puffiness, dullness and fluid retention while supporting the skin’s structural integrity, it leaves the complexion visibly energised and more resilient - without any dryness.

Biodance Invisible Collagen Peptide Sun Fluid

Also reaching far beyond traditional sun protection, this 50+ PA++++ formula is infused with ultra-low molecular water plus 10 peptides to quickly penetrate the skin and visibly combat signs of ageing while also defending against future UV-induced damage. Plus, unlike traditional sunscreens that pill or separate under foundation, this sunscreen is clinically proven to actively improve makeup adhesion for a lasting seamless finish alongside a more resilient complexion.

DISCLAIMERS:

While I’m not a doctor or dermatologist, I’ve spent much of my career immersed in the beauty industry, particularly skincare. As a former beauty trends editor, I scoured the global market to identify and test some of the most innovative formulas out there. I later worked on the brand team at one of the UK’s fastest-growing skincare companies, helping bring to market some of today’s most advanced technologies.
