Freddie's layering rules
- If in doubt about the correct order, apply from thinnest to thickest texture.
- Allow each product to absorb for 1–2 minutes before applying the next, particularly between serums, moisturisers and sunscreens.
- In the evening, double cleanse to remove makeup, sunscreen and the day’s build-up before anything else.
This guide is not medical advice. Always follow product instructions, patch test new actives and stop if your skin shows signs of irritation.

Freddie's wedding skincare approach
Wedding-day-worthy skin doesn't happen by crossing your fingers. As Freddie puts it, it comes from targeted skincare and, above all, consistency. Whether you're the bride, groom, bridesmaid or a guest, the aim is the same: skin that lets makeup go on evenly and stay put all day, and looks smooth and even in close-up, high-definition photos.
How far away the day is changes everything. Freddie recommends starting a tailored routine at least six months before for truly transformative results, and wouldn't start AHAs, BHAs, retinoids or azelaic acid with less than six months to go, as they can cause reactions or need time for skin to adjust. On a shorter timeline, the focus shifts to hydration, a thorough cleanse and steady, purposeful ingredients.
Freddie's full guide walks through the ingredients and product types she would consider for texture, tone, clarity, elasticity and hydration, and how to phase them in so nothing is left to chance on the day.
